Safdaria Girls High School Celebrates Platinum Jubilee

Safdaria Girls High School, Hyderabad, is among the oldest urdu medium schools in Hyderabad. This was established in 1934 by Mrs.Sughra Humayun wife of Mr.Humayun Mirza. Mrs.Sughra Humayun is the daughter of Mr.Safdar Jung. This is the first urdu medium govt. aided school being run by the private management in Andhra Pradesh. The school has the distinction of producing toppers in the board exams. The students of this one of the oldest schools is spread over the entire globe and are doing extremely well in their respective fields. This years topper in the Board exam was Ayesha Jaleel, comes from the middle class background and is an extremely brilliant girl. She was bestowed with the gold medal for her achievement in the board exam.

This school has been visited by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, I.K.Gujral, former Prime Minister of India, Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Cabinet Minister and the governors and the Chief Ministers. I was extremely pleased to see the discipline and the IQ level of the students of this school. My beloved father late Janab Khaleelur Rahman saheb M.P. has been closely associated with this school and was a frequent visitor and represented to the state governments and the Central governments for the sanction of the grants. I wish to see many more urdu medium school coming up in Hyderabad of this standard. The students are proficient in English and Telugu as well. The teachers are a dedicated lot and are very cordial and humble. This represents the typical culture of  Hyderabad. I wish teh school, its managment and the students the best of luck in their endeavor.
