June 5. 2013 will always be remembered a memorable day in my life when I was invited by my dearest friend and my elder brother Janab Hussain M. Al Shareef to visit Saudi Arabian Airlines Catering department called Saudi Airlines Catering which does the inflight catering in more than 28 Airlines including our country's Airlines Air India. Saudi Airlines Catering was established in the year 1981 in Jeddah. The continous efforts and the performance resulted in the opening of four more units. The thirty two years that followed witnessed a drastic expansion in the organisation's operations, which spanned both local and international markets. Mr.Hussain Shareef heads the organisation as its Regional Manager, Jeddah. Mr.Hussain M. Al Shareef is the second son of Janab Mohtram Shareef Mohammed Saheb, Advocate and the Advisor to the Petroluem Minister of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E.Ahmed Zaki Yamini in 1970's. He was the most beloved personality both in India and Saudi Arabia who helped in the inhabitation of thousands of Hyderabadis and Indians in Saudi Arabia. Janab Shareef Mohammed saheb was the proud father of three sons namely Mr.Ahmed Shareef, Mr.Hussain Shareef and Mr.Yahiya Shareef. Mr.Hussain M.Al Shareef is the second son. Mr.Ahmed Shareef died in an accident about 20 years back. May Allah swt grant him and Janab Shareef Mohammed saheb the highest place in Jannat ul Firdous..Ameen

Mr.Hussain M.Al Shareef is a proud Saudi National originally hails from the Ashraaf e Mekkah family. He has studied in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and returned to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1984 and has been working since then for the Saudi Airlines Catering. He is incharge of more than 1700 employees of different nationalities and is among the TOP EXECUTIVES of the Airlines. Under his dynamic leadership, the Airlines Catering has won many prestegous awards. When I met Mr.Hussain, it was quite a nostalgic moment as my beloved father Late Janab Mohd.Khaleelur Rahman, Advocate former Member of Parliament was a very close friend of Janab Shareef Mohammed saheb. They has group at that time which also included Janab Syed Vicaruddin saheb, the Editor in Chief of Rahnum-e-Deccan, the oldest daily newspaper from Hyderabad.

As the Regional Manager of the Prestegous Saudi Airlines Catering, he received the Gold Award for Middle East, Africa & Europe and the Platinum Award worldwide for the Best Airline Catering on April 26, 2012 in Amsterdam (Netherlands). The Award was given by the World's prestegous Quality and Safety organisation for the Airlines International QSAI based in Canada. Besides this, Mr.Hussain bagged many prestegous awards for himself and also for the Airlines in his long tenure of 27 years with the Airlines.

Mr.Hussain M. Al Shareef is a very charming, soft spoken, humble and down to earth person with a very good heart. Inspite of being very busy, he spent more than three hours with me and gave me a tour of the complete facilties of his department. He is loved by one and all because of his lovable and charming nature. He is occupying a very important and responsible position and his Hyderabadi connection makes not only me but the entire Hyderabadis feel proud. He has a special place for Hyderabadis in his heart and always ready with his helping hand for the needy. He is both young and dynamic and has the class of a top executive and heart of a true Muslim, which is a very rare trait seen these days.

Allah swt has blessed him with the heart which is always in the service of Ummah by way of serving the pilgrims who come to Mekkah Mukkarahma from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra, the erstwhile Nizam estate by taking care of them with their accomodation in Rubath which is managed by him personally. He also used to support his beloved father during his life time in handling the responsibility of the Rubath management. He got the inspiration from his beloved father of serving the community.

I have personally visited the Rubath in Mekkah Mukkarahma during my visit to Haram and I was very much impressed with the maintainance and the hygienic conditions of the Rubath. The rooms have been fully refurbished, the free gas stoves are provided to the pilgrims and the free washing facility for their clothes. Mr.Hussain M. Al Shareef always keeps monitoring the maintainance wherever he is through the remote web camera system. I also spoke to the pilgrims who were staying there. They had all the praise for the very good facilities which have been provided to them and they had all the praise and prayers for Mr.Hussain Shareef saheb and his family. May Allah swt accept them. Ameen. Mr.Hussain says that the Airlines is "Duniya" and Rubath is "Akherath" for him.

Mr.Hussain Shareef always beleives in excellence and is a perfect example of professionalism for the younger generation. I was so much engrossed in his talk that I did'nt realise how the duration of three hours passed by. His simplicity is something which I must tell the youngsters about it.

And finally I was treated to the delicacies of the Saudi Catering in its own style. The sea food lobstar, kanoof with Vanilla ice cream was so sumptous and tempting that I just could'nt wait having it quickly as if I had skipped my breakfast for the lunch and I would look forward to another opportunity to grab a bite there.

Tremors felt in and around Delhi but safe
I was at the parliament street when I got a message from a friend of mine from
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia who had seen on the TV that the tremors were felt in New
Delhi. My friend knew that I was in Delhi and immediately they got worried and
sent a message. Till such time I was not aware about it at all. But within few
minutes the news spread like a wild fire and everybody started discussing about
it. Some experienced and some could not understand as to what was happening.
But according to those who experienced, they said that their chairs were
shaking and they could see the chandelier moving like a pendulum then they
understood it was a tremor. I give below the details as reported by the media.
Strong tremors rocked large parts of north India, including the national
capital and its adjoining areas, tuesday evening. The quake measured 7.8 on the
Richter scale at its epicentre on the Pakistan-Iran border. "The epicentre
of the quake was the Pakistan-Iran border and it measured 7.8 on the Richter
scale," V. Dattatreya, head, seismology, India Meteorological Department.
The quake took place at 4.14 p.m. (IST) at a depth of 33 km. The people who
experienced said that the strong tremors that lasted several seconds, leading
to panic in many places. People rushed out of their offices and homes in the
National Capital Region.

earthquake struck Iran

on Tuesday killing 40 people and injuring many. According to an Iranian
government official, hundreds of deaths are expected. According to the sources, they said "It
was the biggest earthquake in Iran in
40 years and we are expecting hundreds of dead.” The tremors were also felt in
Pakistan, India and other gulf nations. 13 people were killed in southwestern Pakistan on when the
region was struck by tremors from the earthquake.
The US Geological Survey said the quake hit at 10:44 GMT at a depth of 15.2 km
(9.4 miles). The epicentre was in southeast Iran in an area of mountains and
desert. It was located 201 km (125 miles) southeast of the Iranian city of
Zahedan and 250 km northwest of Turbat in Pakistan, USGS said. The epicentre of
the quake was 86 km from the city of Khash, near Pakistan's border.
My heart goes to all the victims and their families
and pray to almighty to give the families of the victims the courage and the
strength to withstand this calamity.
