Hope that this finds you all in good health and spirits.

I am happy to inform you that a Bazm has come into existence in Hyderabad known
as "Gulzar-e-Khaleelur Rahman" in the fond and the loving memory of my late
beloved father Janab Khaleelur Rahman M.P. Justice E.Ismail sb is the Chief
Patron, Mohd.Azizuddin sb(Father of Mohd.Azharuddin criceketer) as Patron,
Khaleequr Rahman, President, Salahuddin Nayyar sb Vice President, Masood Mateen
saheb Vice President, qazi Farooq Arafi sb, Gen Second, Yousuf Uddin Yousuf
saheb Secretary.

The main objective of this Bazm is the promotion of Urdu by way of conducting
Mushairaas, seminars and the Adabi mehfils. Very soon, the awards and the
assistance will also be provided to the selective poets and the writers to
publish their works. As Janab Khaleelur Rahman saheb was a true lover of urdu
and he dedicated his life in the service of Urdu. He has been actively
associated with many urdu organisations such as Anjuman Tarriqi Urdu, South
India Urdu Academy, Mera Shaher Mere log, Aiwan e Shaji, and was also the
Secretary Director of A.P.Urdu Academy. When he took charge as the Director of
Urdu Academy, the budget of the Academy was only Rs.5 lakhs and on his
representation, the then Chief Minister has increased it to Rs.40 lakhs and
again during YSR govt he successfully represented and YSR made it Rs.5 crores.
He raised the point in the Parliament that when the poets from other parts of
the country are invited to participate on the Republic Day eve Mushaira in Red
Fort(Lal Qila) why the poets from Hyd are not invited and since then on his
successful representation, the govt of India started inviting the poets from
Hyderabad.

On his successful representation, the first Urdu news Bulletin was started on
Doordarshan Hyd and the Mushairas and the telecasting of the urdu programmes was
started and also the Muhurram Majlis is being shown live by Doordarshan.

He is also intrumental in bringing the Moulana Azad National Urdu University to
Hyd by fighting and Strongly representing to Ram Vilas Paswan and he brought him
to visit the the visit the site of the university which was alloted again on
his representation by the govt of A.P. to the tune of 200 acres for the
University campus. The university was finally inaugurated by the then Prime
Minister I.K.Gujal. The original proposal was to set up this university in
Bhopal but he fought and got it here in Hyd. During hus tenure at the Urdu
Academy, he got the grants and the aid to the poets and the writers for
publishing their works. The aid for conducting the mushairas was also started by
him. Some poet was recently saying in one of the condolence meetings " Jab Kabhi
Mehfilon ki Sadarat ka sawal aayega, Har waqt Janab Khaleelur Rahman sb ka
Khayal AAyega."

The first Natiya Muhsiara was very Successfully conducted on 25 Feb at Madina
Educational centre and it was a huge success with the eminent poets attending
the Natiya Mushaira.
